Startup Autobahn “Future of E-mobility” Focus Week: our biggest Meetup so far in Porsche Museum
Startup Autobahn May Focus Week started off with an exciting Corporate Day hosted by Porsche. Startups of Program #2 had the chance to meet the Porsche team and the Porsche technical experts, participated in a guided plant tour in Zuffenhausen and Porsche Museum and concluded the day with BBQ on the sunshiny rooftop of Weilimdorf Plenum.
On Wednesday, we wrapped up our May Focus Week with the successful completion of Deep Dive Sessions. On the hunt to find the best startups in the world for Program 3, we were joined by 7 startups from the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Finland, France and Germany with focus on “Future of E-mobility”. Following their pitches, startups were able to have closed sessions to make direct contact with our corporate partners.
Our biggest Meetup so far hosted by Porsche with more 330 guests at Porsche Museum in Zuffenhausen included pitches by the Future of E-mobility startups and a keynote speech by Patrick Kück, Head of Corporate Strategy at Porsche AG. And of course there were a lot of network opportunities for startups and corporates alike.
Besides our corporate and ecosystem partners (Daimler, HPE, Porsche, BASF, ZF,Murata) representatives of Lidl, DPDHL, Bosch, Sony, Deutsche Bahn, Lufthansa, Kühne + Nagel, Siemens, HELLA Ventures, Mitsubishi, Koito, etc. gathered to listen to some of the potential startups of Program #3. Those were:
Cohere develops Maxem, a home-energy management system that makes electric cars and homes 100% sustainable by steering car charging and home heating on basis of available renewable energy. Based in: Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Ebee develops and sells components for charging infrastructure to customers, that run their infrastructure as a service for the end customers – the drivers of electric vehicles. Based in: Berlin, Germany.
The pioneering app empowering electric vehicle (EV) drivers to find & pay for charging throughout Europe. PlugSurfing solves the problem EV drivers face of closed networks: now, instead of the 100 RFID cards needed to charge everywhere, a driver can use his smartphone. Based in: Berlin, Germany.
Cleanenergypack (cep) is a scalable, fast swappable lightweight battery module, protected by German utility patent. cep is the decisive building block for the energy transition as it unites stationary and mobile storage. Cep has been developing a global, licensable standard for swappable battery packets since Oct. 2016. Based in: Berlin, Germany
Tanktwo develops and sells algorithm-based battery optimization solutions for large loads, such as Electrical Vehicles. Tanktwo also provides the infrastructure and the back-end to manage the ecosystem. Tanktwo Electric Car batteries give drivers a full charge in under three minutes, yet cost less than standard battery packs. The out-of-the-box distributed design breaks the last battery technology barrier using technologies from mobile networks and the internet. Based in: Vantaa, Finland.
Cirrantic supports the transformation of mobility into being clean, shared, connected, electric, decarbonised, smart, interactive, surprising, fun, and autonomous by proving quality, enhanced data streams to users and providers alike. Based in: Münich, Germany.
The POWERJames charge point can be connected in every environment where power is available. No internet-connectivity needed e.g. in hotel garages etc. Based in: Mannheim, Germany.
Thursday was dedicated to Mentoring Sessions. We started with a workshop on Business Modeling held by Willem Bulthuis then our startups sat together with Alexander Kerpe (Director at Hella Ventures), Peer Bentzen (VP Product Management & Business Development at DPDHL) and Elisa Lutz (tax expert) for one-on-one sessions.
